This Porsche Type 616/39 flat-four was originally produced for use in a 1969 Porsche 912 and have been rebuilt by Vic Skirmants of 356 Enterprises in North Branch, Michigan, in December 2021. The engine was installed in a 1964 Porsche 356SC that have been used by Vic Skirmants during two race weekends, and the engine was subsequently removed. Twin Solex 40 PII-4 carburetors are installed on the engine, which reportedly displaces 1,622cc. Additional details include custom Skirmants cylinder heads, an Elgin camshaft, a SCAT crankshaft, CP-Carrillo connecting rods, JE pistons, and Total Seal piston rings. A deep oil sump, dual oil coolers, and dual Oberg oil filters have been fitted, and a distributor, an ignition coil, and an exhaust system are also installed.
